The Can for Change: A Covenant World Relief Project

Ravenswood Covenant Church has a great opportunity to help people in Honduras obtain clean water.
Every day, 1600 children under the age of five die from diarrhea due to lack of clean water, and women and children fear the worst as they walk for miles to gather water for their families. In many countries, families do not have running water available to prepare food, drink, bathe, and provide toilets. People must walk for miles,
sometimes 4 times a day, to a river where they carry back dirty water to provide for their families.

Covenant World Relief is our denomination’s help agency to alleviate many needs around the world. One of these prominent needs are in Honduras where our financial gifts will be partnering with a whole community to dig wells and provide a pipeline for running water to their homes.

Please take a lid and label home. Attach these to an empty soup can (they also fit on mason jars), then place the bank on your kitchen table or other accessible spot. Each day have family members add
some money, give thanks, and pray for needy people around the world.

On Pentecost Sunday (May 24) we will corporately bring these banks to church, then send our support and help to this Honduras community. Additional questions: ask Janelle Hollingshead or Colleen Carlson.

Holy Week Worship

Holy Week Worship
In conjunction with Grace Covenant Church, Immanuel Covenant Church, and Resurrection Covenant Church, we are participating in the Paschal Triduum.  On Palm Sunday we remember our expectations for the coming reign of Christ. In the week that follows, together we retrace the path that Jesus took towards his exaltation — a path of suffering and death but also of resurrection, new creation, and new life.

During this week we’ll  wave our palms along the road to Jerusalem, have our feet washed by our Lord, and eat at his table. We’ll witness  his arrest, be crushed by the crucifixion, and grieve his death. And, we will marvel and wonder at his resurrection.

Walk with us.
