Mission & Outreach

We engage in various global and local mission opportunities in order to respond to the Good News and send our congregation into the world for mission. We also try to welcome others to join our community and to hospitably provide outreach opportunities for a variety of audiences outside or on the edges of the church.

Global Mission Opportunities:

Ravenswood Covenant has a long history of supporting missionaries all over the world and partners in international projects as a way to help spread and embody the Good News. We partner with groups like Covenant World Relief and Covenant World Mission most often, and provide financial, prayer and gift support to missionaries currently in their countries of service.

Local Outreach Opportunities:

5th Quarter – Tuesday afternoons, 3:45-5:00pm, middle school and high school students meet in the youth room for tutoring, music lessons, and fun together. If you want to help students with homework, music, or another skill, contact Kaleb Nyqust (youth (at) ravenscov.org)

Basketball – Wednesday nights, 6:30pm, all men are welcome to gather for rotating games. Contact Charles Banks or the church office for more info.

Benevolence Fund – we collect donations that are used to help support immediate needs in our church family and community, including providing emergency money for food and rent, etc.

Green Team – we help connect our congregation to issues related to environmental stewardship, including recycling, product awareness, and cultivating a seasonal community garden.

Art and Music Events – we host seasonal art nights, café gatherings, host special music projects, produce theater events, and plan liturgical events throughout the year that welcome the wider community and share the message of the Good News through art and music.

* We also partner with several other ministries that serve the local community, including JPUSA, Ravenswood Community Food Bank, North Park Friendship Center, and others (check our “Links” for more info).

"With what can we compare the kingdom of God, or what parable will we use for it? It is like a mustard seed, which, when sown upon the ground, is the smallest of all the seeds on earth; yet when it is sown it grows up and becomes the greatest of all shrubs, and puts forth large branches, so that the birds of the air can make nests in its shade." (Mark 4:30-32 NRS)
