THE DAY OF RESURRECTION
Cynthia playing

The day of resurrection! Earth, tell it out abroad;
The Passover of gladness, the Passover of God.
From death to life eternal, From earth to heav’n on high,
Our Christ has brought us over with hymns of victory.

Now let the heav’ns be joyful, let earth its song begin,
The round world keep high triumph, and all that is there-in;
Let all things seen and unseen, their notes of gladness blend,
For Christ the Lord is risen, our joy that has no end!

FROM MATTHEW’S GOSPEL
Matthew 28:16-20
Swansons reading

16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

L:  The Word of the Lord
P: Thanks be to God

(sung)
Glory be to the Father,
And to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost:
As it was in the beginning,
Is now and ever shall be,
World without end. Amen, Amen.

BE STILL
Be still and know I am with you,
Still, for I will sustain you.
Throughout your life I will always be near.
Be still and know I am God.

When life is scatter’d I’m not far away.
When life is heavy I’ll carry you.
When life is treacherous along the way,
I will deliver you.

When you are tempted, escape you will see.
When you are broken, I’ll comfort you.
When you’re repentant and draw near to me,
I will draw near to you.

If you are thirsty, come drink from the well.
If you are hungry, come join the feast.
If you are searching, then I will be found
To bring you hope and release.

Be still and know I am with you,
Still, for I will sustain you.
Throughout your life I will always be near.
Be still and know I am God.
Be still and know I am God.

PRAYERS OF THE CHURCH & THE LORD’S PRAYER
A COMMUNAL PRAYER
L: Let us pray to God,
who alone makes us dwell in safety:

For all who are affected by coronavirus,
through illness or isolation or anxiety,
that they may find relief and recovery:
Gracious Lord,
P: Hear our prayer.

L: For those who are guiding our nation,
city and neighborhoods at this time,
who are shaping national and local policies,
that they may make wise decisions:
Gracious Lord,
P: Hear our prayer.

L: For our teachers and students,
As they navigate learning and community on-line
That they may have patience and discernment
And discover joy in learning even in these moments:
Gracious Lord,
P: Hear our prayer

L: For doctors, nurses and medical researchers,
That through their skill and insights
Many will be restored to health:
Gracious Lord,
P: Hear our prayer.

L: For our neighbors big and small, near and far,
For our local businesses and their employees,
That they may be safe, wise, and cared for:
Gracious Lord,
P: Hear our prayer.

L: For the vulnerable and the fearful,
For the gravely ill and the dying,
That they may know your comfort and peace:
Gracious Lord,
P: Hear our prayer.

We commend ourselves, and all for whom we pray,
to the mercy and protection and care of God.
Merciful God:
P: Accept these prayers
for the sake of your Son,
Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Amen.

All:  Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.  Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever.  Amen.

GIVING OF OUR TITHES & OFFERINGS
Greater Than
maxeltoft sung by Max & Janelle

We’re alone
But we are not alone
We are dust
But we are more than dust
We know
But we will never know
How we are loved
We are more than loved

So be it on the mountain top
So be it on the mountain side
So be it at the bottom if you’re going or you’re coming
So be it since our Savior died and survived
(So be it since our Savior lives)

DOXOLOGY
Praise God from whom all blessings flow
Praise Him all creatures here below;
Praise Him above ye heav’nly host;
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.  Amen.

HE LIVES
I serve a risen Savior,
He’s in the world today;
I know that he is living,
whatever some may say;
I see his hand of mercy,
I hear his voice of cheer,
And just the time I need him
He’s always near.

He lives (He lives) He lives (He lives)
Christ Jesus lives today!
He walks with me and talks with me
Along life’s narrow way.
He lives (He lives) He lives (He lives)
Salvation to impart!
You ask me how I know he lives?
He lives within my heart.

In all the world around me
I see his loving care,
And though my heart grows weary,
I never will despair;
I know that he is leading
Through all the stormy blast
The day of his appearing
Will come at last.

Rejoice, rejoice, O Christian,
Lift up your voice and sing
Eternal hallelujahs
To Jesus Christ the King
The hope of all who seek him,
The help of all who find,
None other is so loving,
So good and kind.

BENEDICTION
May the Lord bless you and keep you.
May the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you
May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you
and give you peace.

L: Go in peace to love and serve the Lord
P: Thanks be to God

"With what can we compare the kingdom of God, or what parable will we use for it? It is like a mustard seed, which, when sown upon the ground, is the smallest of all the seeds on earth; yet when it is sown it grows up and becomes the greatest of all shrubs, and puts forth large branches, so that the birds of the air can make nests in its shade." (Mark 4:30-32 NRS)
