Leader: Let us exalt the Lord our God,
People: In reverent awe, we gather to worship God.
* HOLY, HOLY, HOLY! LORD GOD ALMIGHTY
Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee.
Holy, holy, holy, merciful and mighty!
God in three Persons, blessed Trinity!
Holy, holy, holy! all the saints adore Thee,
Casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea.
Cherubim and seraphim, falling down before Thee,
Who wert, and art, and evermore shalt be.
Holy, holy, holy! though the darkness hide Thee,
Though the eye of sinful flesh Thy glory may not see.
Only Thou art holy, there is none beside Thee
Perfect in pow’r, in love and purity.
Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
All Thy works shall praise Thy name, in earth and sky and sea.
Holy, holy, holy, merciful and mighty!
God in three Persons, blessed Trinity!
Covenant Hymnal, #113
PRAYER
Holy are You, the Lord Almighty, God who was and is, and is to come. Give us strength and conviction to worship You with all that we are and all that we have, bringing glory to Your name, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
OLD TESTAMENT LESSON: Gregory Sager
Isaiah 2:1-5
The word that Isaiah son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.
2 In days to come
the mountain of the Lord’s house
shall be established as the highest of the mountains
and shall be raised above the hills;
all the nations shall stream to it.
3 Many peoples shall come and say,
“Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,
to the house of the God of Jacob,
that He may teach us His ways
and that we may walk in His paths.”
For out of Zion shall go forth instruction
and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
4 He shall judge between the nations
and shall arbitrate for many peoples;
they shall beat their swords into plowshares
and their spears into pruning hooks;
nation shall not lift up sword against nation;
neither shall they learn war any more.
5 O house of Jacob,
come, let us walk
in the light of the Lord!
* GOSPEL LESSON: Gregory Sager
Luke 5:8-10
But when Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’s knees, saying, “Go away from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man!” 9 For he and all who were with him were astounded at the catch of fish that they had taken, 10 and so also were James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. Then Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching people.”
Reader: The word of the Lord.
People: Thanks be to God.
* GIVE US CLEAN HANDS
We bow our hearts. We bend our knees.
O Spirit, come make us humble
We turn our eyes, from evil things
O Lord, we cast down our idols
chorus
Give us clean hands. Give us pure hearts
Let us not lift our souls to another
repeat
And O God, let us be
A generation that seeks
That seeks Your face
O God of Jacob

Dreamy Worship
Pastor Ryan
* HOLY FOREVER
A thousand generations falling down in worship
To sing the song of ages to the Lamb
And all who’ve gone before us
And all who will believe
Will sing the song of ages to the Lamb
(Jesus) Your name is the highest
Your name is the greatest
Your name stands above them all
All thrones and dominions
All powers and positions
Your name stands above them all
And the angels cry Holy
All creation cries Holy
You are lifted high Holy
Holy forever
If you’ve been forgiven and if you’ve been redeemed
Sing the song forever to the Lamb
If you walk in freedom and if you bear His name
Sing the song forever to the Lamb
We’ll sing the song forever and amen
Hear Your people sing Holy
To the King of Kings Holy
You will always be Holy
Holy forever
You will always be Holy
Holy forever

THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

* DOXOLOGY & PRAYER
Praise God from whom all blessings flow
Praise Him all creatures here below;
Praise Him above ye heav’nly host;
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.
* LORD, WHOSE LOVE IN HUMBLE SERVICE
Lord, whose love in humble service
Bore the weight of human need,
Who upon the cross, forsaken,
Worked your mercy’s perfect deed,
We, your servants bring the worship
Not of voice alone, but heart,
Consecrating to your purpose
Every gift that you impart.
Still your children wander homeless;
Still the hungry cry for bread;
Still the captives long for freedom,
Still in grief we mourn our dead.
As you, Lord, in deep compassion
Healed the sick and freed the soul,
Use the love your Spirit kindles
Still to make your people whole.
As we worship grant us vision,
Till your love’s revealing light
In its height and depth and greatness
Dawns upon our quickened sight,
Making known the needs and burdens
Your compassion bids us bear,
Stirring us to tireless striving,
Your abundant life to share.
Called through worship to your service,
Forth in your dear name we go,
To the child, the youth, the aged,
Love in living deeds to show.
Hope and health, goodwill and comfort,
Counsel, aid, and peace we give,
That your servants, Lord, in freedom
May your mercy know, and live.

INVITATION
We’ll be back here next Sunday. We hope you can join us. Information on ravenscov.org.
Please wear a nametag
We’ve had a number of visitors and new attendees lately, and it’s very important that we not only welcome them warmly to our church but also allow them to attach a name to a face. Please wear a nametag and let visitors know who you are! Blank nametags and Sharpies will be available both in the narthex and in the sanctuary.
Hanging of the Greens
Everyone is invited to participate in our annual task of decorating the church before the start of Advent, the Hanging of the Greens.This year’s Hanging of the Greens will take place on two evenings: Monday, Nov. 25 at 7:00 pm, and Wednesday, Nov. 27 at 7:00 pm. This is to accommodate as many people as would like to contribute, since Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and the First Sunday of Advent all take place at the end of that week and people might be too busy preparing for the holiday to show up on one night or the other.
Roger Olsen will be in charge both nights. Come help us usher in the Advent and Christmas seasons as we prepare our church for the celebration of the coming of our Lord!

Faith Forum
Faith Forum, Ravenswood Covenant’s adult Christian education class, meets at the Sunday School hour (10:00 am) during the school year. This year’s edition of Faith Forum will feature a series of teachers who will each explore a topic over a one-month period. Our teacher for November is Paul Shaheen.

Church parking
Do you know someone who needs a place to park in the Ravenswood neighborhood? Ravenswood Covenant Church is currently leasing space in its parking lot. Parking is $60 per space per month for non-members, and is available for day/evening, overnight, or both. For more information, please contact the church office at 773-784-7091 or office@ravenscov.org.
Scripture reader sign-up
We’re now seeking people to read the scripture passages of the day in the worship service for the fall months. If you are willing to be a scripture reader in November or December, please add your name to the sign-up sheet in the church office or in the narthex on Sundays, or contact Gregory Sager or Pastor Ryan. Feel free to sign up for more than one Sunday if you like.
Pastor Ryan’s office hours
Pastor Ryan’s office hours at church are typically Tuesday thru Friday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. If you would like to meet with Pastor Ryan please call the church office in advance to schedule an appointment.
Coffee hour changes
There is now a coffee hour bulletin board downstairs in the fellowship hall! (It’s right next to the kids’ serving window.) Please look there for updated serving instructions as well as to find out what team you’re on. We’ve had some turnover, so we encourage you to sign up to join a serving team if you haven’t done so already. A self-sign-up will now be available on the board so that you can pick which Sundays work best for you. As always, thanks for serving!
